Electronic notebook at ITHS: click instead of pen

Information Technology High School - ITHS is the only school in Serbia in which an electronic notebook is used alongside a traditional one. In order for their studying to be even easier, faster and more interesting, ITHS students use tablet computers in their activities, and through them, they open electronic notebooks, so they can work wherever they are – the only prerequisite for such advantage in learning being an internet connection.

At ITHS, students can now directly enter tables, images, even links to videos into electronic notebook. Instead of using pocket or rucksack, students carry an online notebook in their mobile phone, tablet or computer, and they can access it no matter where they are.

Tablet devices were introduced at ITHS several months ago, which caused a veritable revolution in education in Serbia. Thanks to these innovations, teaching at ITHS has become even more innovative, advanced and more interesting.

Advantages of using tablet devices in teaching are numerous, including the facts that students can use photographs and videos in class, the teaching unfolds faster, numerous interesting applications are used in learning, the entire content is available to students online wherever they are, and they can also constantly communicate with their teachers.

This way of learning provides better connection between teacher and student. Namely, the teacher first creates a folder named after the subject; then, inside it, he creates separate folders for each class, and then mobile electronic notebooks for each individual student.

Every time a student opens the notebook online, the teacher, too, can access it and see everything the student has written in it. Also, teacher’s full access to the students’ e-notebooks ensures entirely proper evaluation and grading of students’ work, since the teacher is the one who sets what the student can enter into the notebook and how.
