Science On Stage Serbia is a part of the European STEM teacher platform. Its goal is to implement and promote STEM education at the national level, organize teacher training and workshops for students in different STEM areas, and continuously spread innovative teaching practices across Serbia.
The Institute for Contemporary Education and Savremena’s primary and secondary schools, members of the LINK educational Alliance, are official representatives of the Science On Stage Serbia network and have brought this important platform to our country.
Science on Stage Serbia enables teachers in Serbia to share teaching concepts and experiences with their European colleagues. In addition, it keeps them up to date with research, accomplishments and trends in their respective and related fields, and provides them with ideas and inspiration to enhance their teaching process and make it more interesting.
The Science on Stage Serbia team consists of STEM teachers from different cities in Serbia, renowned experts at the national and international level, who will work to exchange ideas and information to make all STEM principles and possibilities accessible to their colleagues and students.
The Science on Stage network was born out of Physics on Stage, launched in 1999 by CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), ESA (European Space Agency) and ESO (European Southern Observatory), as part of European Science and Technology Week 2000. In 2004, the project became a bottom-up initiative called Science on Stage.
As an umbrella organization with headquarters in Berlin, Science on Stage coordinates the activities of its members from 35 countries, and promotes international exchange of the best practices and ideas of STEM education. The network has over 100,000 STEM teachers from the EU and has expanded internationally to include Canada, Egypt, Kazakhstan and Georgia.
In order to improve the quality of teaching technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), the platform inspires and enables teachers to exchange teaching concepts and experiences. Moreover, it serves as a valuable source of information about scientific research.
