ITAcademy students’ website teslaways.rs presented at this year’s International Tourism Fair
Website teslaways.rs, created, as a present to the Tesla Ways project, by ITAcademy students, was presented at the International Tourism Fair in Belgrade on Saturday, March 1, 2014. The site was presented on stands of National Tourism Organisation of Serbia, Tourism Organisation of Niš, Sports and Tourism Center Bajina Bašta and Magelan travel agency.
Visitors of this year’s International Tourism Fair had a unique opportunity to take a virtual walk along Tesla Ways through the website www.teslaways.rs and learn more about Serbia’s industrial heritage and century-old hydropower plants of Electric Power Industry of Serbia’s, and then apply to actually become the first tourists to start on Tesla’s Ways through Serbia.
On this occasion, ITAcademy also gave several valuable prizes to the visitors, such as Tesla Ways through Belgrade tour or ITAcademy’s courses in Photoshop, IT fundamentals or English language.
The entire process of creation of the teslaways.rs website was carried out by the most talented students at Design & Multimedia and Programming Department as part of regular practice during education at ITAcademy. The website was made by PHP programmers Željko Ostojić i Marko Prokić, web designer Milan Petrović and Print & Graphic designer Andrea Obradović. This is another example of our students successfully applying the knowledge and skill acquired at ITAcademy to a real project.
Website teslaways.rs is the first portal to comprehensively present Serbia’s industrial heritage, both in English and Serbian. Besides presenting cultural and industrial landmarks to the general public through narration and numerous photographs, the website makes it easier for users to start exploring lesser known parts of Serbia, using maps.
The Tesla Ways project was initiated by Center for Study in Cultural Development, in cooperation with Nikola Tesla Museum and the Tourist Organization of Serbia, through setting the foundation of the route and studying the possibilities of its development. The project is supported by Electric Power Industry of Serbia, Ministry of Culture and Information, and ITAcademy.
