ITS celebrates admission of 9th generation of students

Information Technology School ITS has welcomed its new, largest to date, generation of freshmen.

New ITS students were greeted on October 9 at the school premises at the Comtrade Technology Center. The total number of students enrolled in study programs Information Technologies, Computer Multimedia, Electronic Business, and Organizational Sciences is 300.

Students were greeted by ITS professors, along with the members of school management and LINK group and Comtrade managers. On this occasion, freshmen were addressed by some of the most successful IT experts, who reminded them that they chose one of the most profitable professions in Serbia and in the world.

Veselin Jevrosimović, Comtrade company president, welcomed the freshmen and reminded them that they are getting educated for profession of the future: “Comtrade employs 1,600 software engineers, a profession for which you are going to be educated in the next three years. The ninth generation has an unprecedented number of enrolled students. Do not forget: you are studying for the profession of the future!”

Students were also addressed by Delimir Tasić, representative of the Intel company in Serbia: “This country is experiencing a shortage of professionals educated in IT, and Intel shares the same problem. It is a little known fact that Intel owns a development center in Belgrade, which was launched with a modest number of five engineers and has reached the number of 40 employees in just two years.”

“What you study today will tomorrow guarantee you a good job in companies such as Oracle. To you, that job will be very interesting, and to your families, it will provide a nice future” said Claude Colaro, General Manager of the Oracle company for Serbia, Montenegro and Bulgaria.

Pierre Boscq, member of Societe Generale Bank’s Executive Board, also spoke to the future students: “There is a growing demand for IT experts in Serbia, and likewise at Societe Generale Bank. This year, we employed IT experts directly from university. In the course of your studying, we will be pleased to offer you internship at our bank.”

ITS is a sure chance for success, because 92.57% of students from this field of study develop a successful career. Knowledge that they obtain in the course of studying at ITS constitutes a solid basis for further professional advancement.
