BusinessAcademy and ITAcademy − Part ot the big Marrow Registry campaign in Bosnia and Herzegovina
As a socially responsible company, LINK group has supported the Mayors and Businesspeople for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Marrow Registry campaign by donating two education programmes - the Cambridge Business programme at BusinessAcademy and an ITAcademy programme of their choice - to two leukemia survivors.
LINK group took part in the campaign launched by MALA, an NGO, aiming to help establish registry of bone marrow donors in Bosnia and Herzegovina and give leukemia patients a chance to survive.
As a part of the humanitarian campaign, on Sunday the 15th of February 2015 a special will be hosted in Sarajevo, which is set to feature not only LINK group’s representatives but those of other socially conscius companies in the region, as well as many other public and religious figures, diplomats and media houses. The special will be broadcast on PINK TV, TV HAYAT, TV SA etc.
The goal of the campaign is to establish as large a registry of blood donors as possible, to raise the funds necessary to qualify those donors and to help the marrow registry become a member of Eurotransplant, the international donor association.
Achieving those campaign goals would mean that in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the cost of bone marrow transplants would go down from 350 000 euros to 50 000 euros which would largely be covered by health insurance. This way, leukemia treatment will become much easier and available to more people.
Social responsibility is an important part of our corporate policy, that’s why we've supported this cause, hoping to provide a second chance and a better future for people battling this horrible illness. We would like to wish our future BusinessAcademy and ITAcademy students all the best in their studies and careers.
