Minister of Education pays a visit to our schools - ITS and ITHS
The Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, dr Srđan Verbić, accompanied by his Assistant Minister for secondary education, Snežana Marković and his Assistant Minister for development and higher education, dr Milovan Šuvakov, came to visit the Information Technology High School - ITHS and the Information Technology School - ITS.
During their visit, the minister and his assistant ministers took the time to familiarize themselves with the modern approach to education applied at both schools. They spoke to our students and teachers who told them more about interactive lessons, the use of tablets in the classroom and the e-notebook which contains all of the relevant information for a given lesson i.e. information that will be included in the e-diary.
The Minister of Education was impressed with the interactive teaching at ITS and ITHS
Having sat in on a geography lesson, the minister and his assistant ministers were able to experience firsthand what interactive teaching and the use of tablets and applications is all about.
The Mala matura app was demonstrated as one of the many ways ITHS teachers help prepare students for taking the state primary examinations in Serbian, mathematics and the combined subjects.
The University Information System used by ITS that enables all of the relevant teaching activities and materials to be integrated and stored in one place was also proudly presented since such systems are supported by only a handful of educational institutions. Any and all relevant information for students gets automatically posted on ITS’s online student platform.
Minister Verbić and his assistant ministers showed great interest during the presentation on software supported learning and the possibilities it offers. It implies an online platform through which students can access additional learning resources, various online courses, tests, pop quizzes, multimedia content and other materials intended to ensure an efficient learning process for every student.
The role the founders, Comtrade and LINK group, play in both schools was also emphasized and explained through their approach to education, which fosters a corporate philosophy and gives young people the opportunity to prepare for future employment through work placements at the founding companies.
