The Information Technology High School donated tablets to the Dragan Hercog Primary School
With the aim of facilitating the learning process by rendering teaching materials in an easier-to follow way, the Information Technology High School donated tablets to Dragan Hercog Primary School students who are either in extended home or hospital care.
ITHS students take part in various charities and fund-raisers every year in which they demonstrate their sense of solidarity, kindness and social responsibility knowing that a little can go a long way.
Tablets make learning more interesting
Students at the Dragan Hercog Primary School are very dedicated to their education whilst bravely coping with debilitating ailments. Unfortunately, unlike their peers they are not able to attend full-time education and take part in regular school projects and activities. Tablets enable them to learn through various interesting apps and to connect with their peers.
Zoran Aleksić the Principal of the Dragan Hercog Primary School said the following: “Both ITHS’s visit and gifts mean a lot to us. The challenges our students face have various manifestations, some of which can occur out of the blew, leaving them without books and notebooks which makes teaching all the more difficult. Tablets thus enable students to access the Internet as well as various learning materials in a digital format.”
ITHS students often organise charity events
Each year, ITHS continues its tradition of cooperating with various schools and institutions in Belgrade, enabling its students to befriend and help others. The visit to the Dragan Hercog Primary School is yet another such endeavor.
“We found out that the students at Dragan Hercog are in need of tablets so we decided to help them. Through our Student Parliament, the students body decides whom it will help next. We are very proud of their contribution.” said Aleksandra Prokopijević, a Serbian language teacher at ITHS.
ITHS is the first school in Serbia that has fully implemented tablets into their teaching. Teachers at both ITHS and the Dragan Hercog Primary School exchanged their ideas on how and when to use tablets in teaching.
Students at the Information Technology School are not only taught the skills they need to become experts in their field but they are also taught to be kind and compassionate individuals, empathetic to the needs of others and always ready to help those in need. We are proud of our students!
